Well a little later than promised, so I’m sorry as my computer had a meltdown and was forced to re-format among other things. Won’t bore you with all that but will get on with this book review.

A friend of mine actually highly recommended this book to me when she passed it on, somewhere last year. With somewhat of a tagline reading;

” Everything about Ginny will change this summer…

13 Little Blue Envelopes

The book actually opened my eyes and gave me a jolt. It was like one adventure after another. Each time the blue envelope came into Ginny’s possession, it was like a riddle,map, roller coaster all summed up into one big note. A lot of things you would normally find in the story line was rather unexpected, as there were twist more than you can imagine with the characters. Every character had its own purpose, had depth, not one character could be substantiated for anything or any other character-if that makes any sense at all.

I will not kill your fun by revealing the twist nor will I indulge any information that could possibly give you an insight into the magnificent point of view of this author, rather I’ll leave you with the first four rules that Ginny’s aunty gave her at the beginning of the book, just to jump start your curiosity and hope that you will in turn be excited and intrigued enough to bother to go out and get this book. So here are the rules (an excerpt from the book;

Rule 1:
You can only bring what fits in your backpack, do not try to fake it with a purse or a carry-on

Rule 2:
You may not bring guidebooks, phrase books, or any kind of foreign language aid, and no journals.

Rule 3:
You cannot bring extra money or credit/debit cards, traveler’s checks, etc. I’ll take care of all that.

Rule 4:
No electronic crutches. This means no laptop, no cell phone, no music, no camera. You cannot call home or communicate with the people in the US by Internet or telephone. Postcards and letters are acceptable and encouraged.

That’s all you need to know for now. See you at 4th Noodle.

Well guys, I will provide some basic information below so you can look up the book. But trust me please do, there is something so whimsical, so exciting that makes it hard to put down the book, the moment you pick it up. It’s light but in no means should it be taken lightly for it is a book that inspires and takes your mind on a journey with Ginny.

Oh yes, I forgot. The book also has a very interesting Q&A that just adds so much…it’s like finishing touches to this awesome book, but do not read it till you finish the book completely cover to cover. It’s like a Xmas present, only meant to be opened on Xmas Day, so finish the book then proceed to the Q&A.

Have fun and let me know if you liked the book as much as I did:)
