Nat Under Reman

Three individuals claiming to be plainclothes police officers arrested Nathaniel Tan, 26 year old who works with the Information Bureau of Parti Keadilan Rakyat, aide to Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and runs Bangkit.net a civil society blog. After 6 hours of his disappearance, finally friends and family tracked him down to the Dang Wangi Police Station after previously setting up post for a solidarity gathering in front of the Bukit Aman police station where he was believed to have been held. His computer also has been seized according to fellow bloggers. His arrest apparently is the outcome of a police report being made concerning allegations of content in his blog. Nat’s family was allowed to see him and he seems to be in good spirits despite is predicament.

The most recent update is that Nat has been remanded under the Official Secrets Act for four days under the allegation of possessing documents that implicate Johari Baharum to corruption.How far this is true I have no idea.We are all still waiting to hear any news on Nat’s condition, situation..
